KuyaKixTV: New Year, YouTube Me

In 2016, I pursued a side hustle and spent some time flexing my photography muscle and established Toy Bacon with one of my best friends, Andrew aka @dru_olive. We had our share of successes and failures, learned from each, quickly tweaked our approach, and continue to press on creatively as a team, and independently.

Our collaborative works has built a decent following, great social engagement, and we've won a bunch of feature spotlights on niche toy photography handles and some notable brands on Instagram. Andrew nailed some killer shots with his new DSLR, built some dope ass LED lighting, and has dabbled in creating his own effect parts and they look friggin' awesome! As for me, I spent most of my time on business development securing a few manufacturing and professional service partners including a 3D printing service and local barbershop that hosted a Super Smash Bros eSports event last summer.

For 2017, I have my sights on YouTube. Tons of people have asked about what happens behind the scenes with Toy Bacon like how we come up with our themes and what equipment we use. I want to give our fans a closer look on exactly that, and more of what my passion for toys, tech, travel, and more entails. Please take a look at my first 2017 video, Like, Comment, and Subscribe. It's far from perfect, so your feedback is super valuable. 

Some of the feedback I've received so far includes:

• More enthusiastic voice-over (I recorded into the wee hours of the night and toned it down because some people get annoyed at overly enthusiastic YouTubers. I've been told I have a great tone and personality in-person, and should work on getting comfortable with that on-camera) 
• Cleaner audio (I know it's pitchy. I dropped the DB on the background loop, and raised it on the voice-overs, but I'll work on tightening that up. The audio was also recorded on shotgun mic and PC headset, so I need to adjust for a more consistent sound)
• Lighting for product shots (The time-lapse was shot in a light box with cheap table top lights from the left and right, and the LEGO Dimensions base was lit from a distance with an LED and diffuser. I'll try to get more keylight fill in the lightbox, and brighter, balanced lighting on the base)
