Movember 2016 #TransformationTuesday
November is a particularly special month to me. It starts the day after Halloween, marks the unofficial start of the holiday season (a transition month if you will), it's my birth month (shout out to all my November babies out there), and most importantly, it's Movember.
For the past 6 years, I've joined Mo Bros and Sisters around the world in the effort to raise awareness for men's health. Every year, I start clean shaven on the first of the month, shedding hair and years off my face in the process. In recent years, they've added the 'move' challenges and 'host an event' options which I feel was a great way to appeal to more supporters. I've gone solo, joined work groups, and have made some great friends along the way.
In regards to personal motivation, things didn't really hit home until my best friend lost his father to cancer a few years back. He was one of the funniest and generous men I knew, always treated me like family, and sported an epic mo. He will always be the face of Movember in my heart and mind, for as long as I continue to participate. So here's to you Tio Jaime. Thanks for motivating me to do something more to this date.
Since Movember falls on my birth month, I ask that if you can spare a few dollars, please donate to my Mo Space. This year, I've set my goal to $500 dollars. It's about the same amount that I've been able to raised over the past 6 years, but I'm confident that I'll achieve this goal. That's 25 - $20 donations, 50 - $10 donations, 100 - $5... you get the picture, so please consider this as a birthday present to a friend that's actually going to a great cause.
Please donate to My Mo Space.
