2nd Place: @toyz_zone Ronin Challenge
I recently learned of a photography challenge hosted by @toyz_zone on Instagram called "Ronin Challenges". Each Ronin Challenge has a specific theme that entrants have to abide by to qualify, and this week's challenge was "Video Games". There's no shortage of video game characters in my collection, so I quickly rounded up some figures from the Mushroom Kingdom including:
- Mario (S.H. Figuarts)
- Luigi (S.H. Figuarts)
- Bowser (Jakks Pacific)
- Peach (Nintendo amiibo)
- Bowser's Minions (S.H. Figuarts, Jakks Pacific)
I used my Power A amiibo End Level Display with blue and green bristol boards to simulate a Super Mario background, and placed and posed my figures accordingly. I edited in the New Super Mario Bros logo, some captions, applied some light filters, and after all my hard work, I came in 2nd place! Not bad for my first entry, but more importantly, having a specific theme to follow was equally fun and challenging.
